Honest about how i feel and who i am

“My name is Deidre and I am 28 years old. I lost my family due to violence at 3. I was adopted at 4 with my brother. I was born with hearing loss and became permanently deaf at 6yrs old. I do wear a cochlear implant to help me hear. I had thyroid cancer when I was 11 and underwent several rounds of radiation treatment and surgery becoming cancer free after a year and a half. I have endured so much trauma in my life that I had tried committing suicide but was unsuccessful. This led me to believe that I must be here for a reason. So, I’ve been in therapy for 6 years and counting. I have become a stronger person, open minded and honest about how I feel and who I am.”
